The practices and passions guiding the direction of J. Garland Ross Antiques, are rooted in its founder and senior specialist Jennifer Garland Ross. Ms. Ross‘ knowledge and expertise is a culmination of several years of experience as a specialist of European Furniture and Decorative Arts at Christie’s Auction House, where she oversaw the entire auction process including business development, inspection of property, value assessment, marketability, research, cataloguing and auction sales.

Her formal training prior to Christie’s includes comprehensive study of furniture, paintings, silver, porcelain and ceramics and decorative objects dating from the 15th through 20th centuries. After earning a Masters Degree in Fine and Decorative Arts from the University of Manchester, England, courses held at Sotheby’s Institute in London, she was awarded a prestigious internship at Hampton Court Palace where she researched and catalogued State beds from important English country houses.

In addition to her formal training at Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Hampton Court Palace, Jennifer worked at a London antiques establishment specializing in French and Italian Furniture. She has traveled extensively in Europe where her knowledge of the Italian and French languages has aided her in consulting clients on their private collections, publishing articles and lecturing on “Fine and Decorative Arts”.
